It is a free event held at night during a weekday. A place where we can all network, talk, drink and watch presentations. It is all paid for by sponsors. It is ran in 2 parts.

1st Part

 We have presentation scheduled that last 5 minutes. Each person has 20 slides that rotate automatically every 15 seconds. The presentations are on creative and or interesting things that are not typically your everyday type of presentation.

Here are some of the presentations we have had in the past;

  • Beer- An Introduction to home brewing by Matthew Williams
  • The Lies We Tell Ourselves by Anthony Eden
  • Freelance in the new Economy by Cory Collier
  • Nerdapalooza - The Nerd Revolution by John "Hex" Carter

2nd Part

We have some type of hands on contest. For instance at our first event;

•  
  • people broke into teams of 5 (rule you must know anyone on your team)
  • they were told to come up with a team name
  • they were given a bag of supplies (tape, straws, paperclips)
  • they were instructed to build a load bearing bridge that could stretch between to bar chairs
  • they were given 45 minutes

After the time was up, each team sent a team member to represent them on stage. This person was given rolls of pennies and told to load them on their bridge. The team that held the most weight won. Each team member was given a prize paid by our sponsors. The prize was a 10' digital photo frame worth $99.00.

The contest for Ignite Orlando 2 will be announced at the event.

This is an Ignite Event! Our first Ignite Orlando event was a huge hit, we had 125 attendees and we had a great time!
